This is what i want it to be capable of:

Gamingsites, like runescape, neopets, etc.
I want to download many things on it, like: Game trials and demos, things like Paint shop pro( or just art programs like MS paint) and things like myspace..I also want to watch movies on it, and store songs.
Thank you!
P.S: It also has to be lightweight, I don't want to break my hands carrying it :)
P.P.S:How much should it cost?

Normally lightweight computers come with..
lets say not so good systems.
Big and heavy labtops are sure pain in the *** when it comes to carrying it around, but normally have good systems inside.

I haven't used the gamingsites that you mentioned so I can't really answer that one..
but for the downloads, around 80-100g of harddrive space will be plenty.
And don't worry about the harddrive cause you can always buy a external harddrive. (Smaller = More expensive)

Movies, songs ... I personally think everylab top has about the same quality because of the built in speaker.

If your looking to buy it anytime soon
I would recommend Toshiba Satalite series.

single /duo core cpu
1g memory
100g harddrive

only thing is the graphic card.. which uses shared memory..
but itz small, light and pretty powerful.

Right now it costs about $1200-1300

good luck!

And.. I hear people saying dell is cheap and sony is the best and this and that...

Brands that I would recommend are:
Sony, IBM, Toshiba, Compact

Only brand I don't recommend is:
Gateway.
...they really have the bitchest customer service...
(personal experience)

For Dell computers..
They are okay to use..
but from personal experience at the company..
where we had 100+ people using Dell desk tops...
It had serious problems and me and my supervisor was going crazy running around trying to fix them.

They are okay, but if your looking for something to use in the long run, I would buy one of the 4 that I listed up there.

But remember that itz YOUR LAPTOP.
Choose wisely!
And Choose the one that YOU like!

good luck!

If you don't intend on doing anything on it that will save HUGE files...text stuff is pretty light, photos shouldn't be too bad if you save them on it as a normal photo size. Things like games online will need a system that can handle running it, but not necessarily huge if they are only online and not on the computer itself... You probably won't need the biggest system, so I'd go for the mid-range at the most, maybe less (and costs less). The lighter system would probably be fine since you can remove game trials/demos when the time runs out and free up that space, same with songs you are done with, can also save it to a disk then take it off the computer. Best thing to do, go to a store like Best Buy or whatever big electronics store you have in your area, see what they have. Talk to them, tell them that you are trying to get some ideas right now and see what they recommend.

OK heres the lowdown... If you are looking for a decent but yet nicely priced notebook i would definaterly go with a Toshiba Satelite. But heres the other thing the notebook you want to buy also depends on what you are wanting to do with the notebook... for instance if your looking for a notebook for gaming you would want to go with a dell xps notebook. or if your looking for a media notebook for burning cds and or pictures and stuff like that then you would be ok to go with a toshiba...also make sure the notbook you buy comes with a 5 hour battery life.,,,from the sound of it you are going to want to go with a toshiba satelite witch can cost from 600 to 1500 depending on what series you buy.

Any HP/Sony/dell with at least: 512 mb memory, 60gb hard drive, a dvd drive and acceptable weight should work well.
