Do you think the taboo about tattoos is stupid?

personally i think it is and i have some but i think i would not like if it was something ugly!

Yes definitely. Tattoos are a form of artwork..you wouldn't call the Mona Lisa a taboo...or something like that. I believe that getting a tattoo is a form of self expression and a very effective form. Getting a tattoo does not change the person you are-nor should it effect what others think of you...people that judge those with tattoos are ignorant...just because someone has tattoos does not make them a bad person. Many of the people I have met with tattoos are the best people ever...they are so nice. The good thing about people with tattoos too is that generally they are more open minded than others (I mean they have to be with tattoos everywhere)
It's 2006-people need to get over themselves and just let everyone live their lives....Like I heard somewhere "Are people that bored with their lives and do they have such little problems that they are worried about what other people do?"

No, personally I'm going to get tattoos, Even if other people think their ugly I dont care. Some people want beautiful tattoos and that's not the point. My body is like a canvas and I need to explore it. If I get a tattoo and someone thinks it's ugly I would tell them to turn the other way because I dont care. Because even if the tattoo would be ugly It probobly means something to me. I could of got it because It reminds me of a lost one who I cared about. It's just another way to express your self and show your opinions. Personally there is no reason why tattoos should look ugly or be talked about. Because behind every tattoo lies a meaningful story that only that person knows it. So please dont go judging people if you don't know what they are going trough.

I don't think there's so much of a tattoo taboo anymore. My 75 year-old grandma got one about 5 years ago. I have 6 of them and I have sometimes gotten some funky looks from people but I don't much care. None of them are tasteless or ugly, so I guess that's a good thing.

I believe that the general opinion of tattoos has changed over the years. It used to be that they were only for sailors and bikers, but now anyone who wants to express themselves through this form of body art can do so without projecting a negative image of themselves to the public (depending on the tastefulness of the tattoo, of course!) I'm almost 40 years old with a husband, two grown children, a steady job, and a lifestyle that wouldn't be considered wild by anyone's means, and I'm still collecting tattoos! By the way, anyone who rags on people who have them and says that they are "trashy" should learn the the value of keeping their mouth shut!

Everyone has an opinion. I really don't think it's taboo anymore. Every soho brat in college has a tramp stamp now, it's considered trendy not taboo. I think those are tacky.

Ya, a little bit but I think putting too many tattoos on your body is stupid. It's not like you can easily take them off if you don't like them such as your shirt or an earring.

i think they are fine but it may just be teh people i live around ~my real dad has tatoos all over his arms his legs his back and his stomach(and is a tatoo artis)
~my mom has one on her arm
~my step dad has one on each sholder
~my step mom has a really cool one on her arm and one other
