There is no data on the safety of reusing pumped milk once it is heated and not eaten. For this reason, it is recommended you not keep it for a later feeding, whether baby ate *any* of it or not. Human milk is antibacterial (for instance, freshly pumped milk has a *higher* bacteria count than milk that has been stored), so it may be safe, but nobody knows at this time.

If the baby drinks from it, use it within one hour....bacteria from your baby's mouth gets in the bottle and multiples that is why the one hour limit.
If your baby does not drink from it and it has been un-refrigerated for less than 4 hours it is ok. Freshly expressed milk is only good for 4 hours unrefrigerated. You can buy a diaper bag that has a spot that holds the bottle and will keep it cold. (our Eddie Bauer diaper bag has this). So you have more time. Or pack it with an ice pack to keep it cold longer. I feel the bottle, if it is warm, it gets tossed. If it is still cold, I will refrigerate it again.
I know you do not want to waste any of the milk...and I hate pour it down the drain...but it is better to be safe than sorry.

No.
Any leftover milk has to be discarded, it is not safe for your baby any more, even if you refrigerate it.
Yeah, I know it hurts to throw it away, but that is preferable to a killer intestinal infection that will put your baby in the hospital.
If you are not sure your baby will drink four ounces put two in the bottle. If more is needed it is easier to add an additional two ounces.
Ask your pediatrician, I never gave my daughters the same bottle or leftover milk from a previous feeding, bacteria have time to reproduce there and it could make your baby very very ill.

No, once the baby has drank from the bottle, it can not be used again. Bacteria from the baby's mouth gets on the nipple and in the milk and you are supposed to throw it away.

I froze mine my doctor said it was good for 3 months, I did use it, the baby was fine. My sitters used it whe I had to go to work. I put it in bottle bags, put a twisty tie on it , sat it on a tray in the freezer.Refridgerating lasts up to 48 hours.
