There are 3 things that I can't live without on these flights - laptop, ipod, and crossword puzzle! Most of the time I spend is on work related things on my laptop or blackberry. The flight also gives you a chance to adjust your sleep schedule to your destination. Most people read books but I cannot do that because of motion sickness, but I am able to do crossword puzzles. Then it is vital to adjust your sleep, unless you want a headache for the next 2 days, which is where Ambien comes in. Usually I only take half of a regular dose, though, so I'm not too groggy upon landing. If you don't have sleeping pills then you could take Benadryl, which also induces sleep. It makes the flight seem shorter plus you will be well-rested. Good luck!

currently I'm laying on my back on the floor. I've mounted an LCD a couple feet in front of my face. Does wonders for your back, shoulders, and neck, but I wouldn't recommend 16 hours.
I've seen some mounts for attaching a monitor to an easy chair or a sofa. For years I just used an oversized desk and a recliner.
I figure none of that advice helps, so maybe this will: get two chairs, and switch up every few hours.

My 16-18 hours go smoother with the smallish throw pillow I'm sitting on. Also, I've got one of those side storage cabinates at the same level of the desk where there is a small beanbag the size of a coupla hackysacks but looser under my elbow! My mouse is mounted on a elevated 1.5 inch cardboard box lid 'platform' to compensate for elevated 1.5 inch bag at elbow! There are no arms on my swivel chair & I'm still having trouble with the carpeted floor impressions in spite of the $100 floor protector under the wheels above the carpet! But it's not like diggin ditches or even doin dishes, is it??

In order to get a decent ergonomic chair that you'll be happy with plan on spending around $3000. For that you get every adjustment angle that is necessary for a comfortable sit. You definitely won't be disappointed.

I am NOT trying to be smart...but hun, it really isn't healthy for you to sit at a computer chair for 14-16 hours, which also explains why it isn't comfortable for you to sit that long, you just don't need to! I know it isn't what you wanna hear, but you need to hear it, it's the truth.

You'll want to go for one that is padded but firm. Definitely not leather. Also look for 5 legs so you can't tip over. Lower back support is crucial also, although you can use a pillow in lieu of. Don't go for those funky posturpedic chairs that you kneel on - uncomfortable and a waste of money.

For christmas last year I got a high back leather chair, it has taken shape to my butt so therefore I'm the only one who finds it comfy. You can find one similar in staples, office max, places like that.
