Hmmm, why would they not be?
I am a Liberal, so what do I do that is not patriotic? Every story has two sides or more to it. Which slice of the pie you fall in depends on your life experiences and your perspective. You might look at me as anti-American if I am against the war in Iraq. But at the same time I look at you as anti-American for spending $100 billion American tax-payers' dollars on a conflict that has killed more Americans that any other conflict in my lifetime. To me, it takes an idiot to not realize this and to say someone hates America or is anti-American just because they have different views than you do. Also, most conservatives hated our leaders when Clinton was in office... that's the way it goes. That didn't make you not an American. Grow up man, why even ask a stupid question like that?

Where do you neocons keep insisting we leave our country because we disagree with you. My family hasn't cheered for any other country since 1776. Read Thomas Paine for God's sake. In lieu of that I'll give you ten reasons we don't follow the Administration and the neocon spins!
Things you have to believe to be a Republican today:
Jesus loves you, and shares your hatred of homosexuality Clinton.
Trade with Cuba is wrong because the country is Communist, but trade with China and Vietnam is vital to a spirit of international harmony.
The United States should get out of the United Nations, but our highest national priority is enforcing U.N. resolutions against Iraq.
A woman can't be trusted with decisions about her own body, but
multi-national corporations can make decisions affecting all mankind without
regulation.
The best way to improve military morale is to praise the troops in speeches, while slashing veterans' benefits and combat pay.
If condoms are kept out of schools, adolescents won't have sex.
A good way to fight terrorism is to belittle our long-time allies, then demand their cooperation and money.
Providing health care to all Iraqis is sound policy, but providing
health care to all Americans is socialism.
HMOs and insurance companies have the best interests of the public at
heart, as do oil companies.
Theres more but you aren't likely to to think about it much anyway. Thank your lucky stars we're good Americans, and decent people or folks as rabid as you would be in the dog pound

why do you hate america?
seriously... if you want to live somewhere where everyone says the same nice things about the government as you, why don't you leave? why don't you value free speech and the right to dissent that this nation was founded on?
how can you consider yourself an american? to me, it isn't just the chunk of land where i happened to fall out of my momma ... i really believe in its ideals. what do you believe an american is? someone who follows around any idiot with the right colors on his flag? how can you be so stupid? i love the constitution, and that's why i can be angry at the leaders, no matter what flag they decide to wrap themselves in.
you sound like you would be very happy in china. why don't you go for a visit?

Well I have read the responses and liberals find themselves very reasonable and patriotic - yes what would we do without them?
I believe liberals really need to look at the past track record and come to terms with what has transpired over the last 40 years
in the fields of education ,social programs ,foreign policy ,law and penology, etc. areas that have been heavily if not completely influenced by their thinking and policies then look in the mirror
and admit what complete failures they are - really just self satisfied pseudo intellectual , parasite . communists, morons.
And if they have the force of character to do that then they can do publicly - then we can consider them American

Of course they should. Just because you may disagree with their ideas and beliefs, and I disagree with many of them, doesn't take away their right to have them. Most liberals - the true, open-minded ones, that is, not the socialist left-wingers who make all the noise - love America very much; they just have different ideas on how it should be run. Remember that America was founded by some very liberal thinkers; the idea that the people could govern themselves, in a time when monarchy was the way of the world, wasn't just liberal - it was downright radical.

Of course we are American. I don't know where you get the idea that we hate America, we're just like you were while Clinton was president. Just because we object to Bush, etc. doesn't make us any less of an American. I LOVE America: I just do not LOVE bush and all his lap dogs. I DO NOT hate the troops, I hate the war that they were sent into.

What most people forget is that patriotism means upholding the values of your country, and that this country was founded on many different values. Each of the major political parties focuses on different aspects of the Constitution as most important.
In the Preamble to the Constitution, there are five goals (values) of the US government: "establish Justice, to ensure domestic Tranquility, to provide for the common Defense, to promote the general Welfare, and secure the blessings of Liberty"
Conservatives think the most important are "to ensure domestic Tranquility" (meaning to promote conformity with 'traditional' ways) and to "provide for the Common Defense". They want group rights (conformity with 'traditional' values) and a large government to ensure domestic tranquility (by enforcing those conservative majority beliefs).
Liberals think it's more important to "promote the general Welfare, and ensure the blessings of Liberty". These are still constitutional values that this country was founded upon.
It's really sad that you want to call someone names and disrespect their love of this country, just because they have different priorities over which constitutional values are most important.

They should be given a choice deported, or labor camp.
I would like to see them put in labor camps So hard working Redpublicans could have a long awaited reprieve.
Look at how Germany flourished in culture when slave labor picked up he physical burden.
Another aspect is it would stop Mexican labor. No one would have to hire a Mexican if they could call the central labor office and get a few Blues delivered.
Go big Red Go

All it takes to be a citizen of this country is to be born here or become naturalized.
Your personal beliefs are protected in this country - that's why so many people want to move here. If you want to live somewhere where everyone is told what to think, you might be better off in Cuba.
