Right now, I'd go with Halladay with Santana a close second. Halladay has been around longer and has proven he can consistently put up the numbers, Santana is getting there, so give him a few more years. Nothing wrong with Mussina either, but I think I'd take Halladay right now over either of them.

That's tough. If I wanted a rotation, I would want Halladay, Santana, Mussina, Liriano, and Wang, just because Wang has a different style from the rest of the other starters, and I like him.

You can make arguements for Verlander and Liriano, but they're both quite young and inexperienced, and we'll know how good they truly are once the league gets a chance to see them. In my opinion, the best pitcher in the American League is Roy Halladay. As of August 2nd, Halladay is 13-2. His E.R.A. is 3.04. He leads the league in innings pitched, with 156.2. He has 3 complete games. If those statistics don't warrant a "Best pitcher in the League" title, I don't know what stats will.

Johan Santana is the best pitcher in the AL. He consistantly is at the top of innings pitched, strikeouts, and ERA. Halladay is close, then the young guys who have only done it for one year, Liriano and Verlander.
