I have always thought that a girl that approaches a guy is very outgoing which is a good thing. That alone usually entices a guy to be more interested in you than the women around him. It also gives him self confedence, so basically just by introducing yourself, you give yourself more of a chance than just waiting to be hit on

There are a couple of them that I've heard. One is "I like a guy who really knows how to dress". Another is "You look familiar, haven't I seen you before?" It sounds boring and cliche', but when you hear it in just the right place, it can really say a lot.
