Yeah I hate it when your parents con you into helping them, and then they act all mean and try and boss you around and take advantage. THen afteryou help- theystill don't let you do what you want.I also hate when they try to send you on a guilt trip. Haven't they figured out that that never works anymore and we don't care. Let us be already. I guess they are just trying to help. They aren't always that bad. They just need to realize we can't be their little babies forever. - Melanie, 14

I am way over 15, but may I respectfully suggest that you write this question down and put it somewhere safe, and then look at it when you become a parent. Then you may realise that your parents only have your best interests at heart. After all, wouldn't life be easier for them if they let you have or do whatever you like?

Of course, when you get older, if you don't see this from an adult point of view, I suggest that you look very carefully at birth control devices.

Well I am 13, but even I know my parents are much wiser. Maybe you might of been better at school than they were, but Don't try to outsmart your parents. That does not mean they should not respect you or not listen to what you have to say both needs respect. Your parents have gone through a lot of things. When asking a question like that it shows your age. Your parents are just wiser, that is the way it is.

Well, what you say isn't true. I can understand why you would be treated that way just by the way you write. I met a 13yo girl last month who is working to be a vet who has an interest in history and the Civil War. I doubt she would have your problem. Are you one of those who always needs to blame someone else for your problems? Sure sounds like it.

I am! I`m about to be 15 in a couple of months and my parents won`t let me do anything I think is fun. I guess they think I`m not mature enough to go out and do things with my friend and it really bugs the heck out of me!!! I`m very responsible, do everything they ask, and I still don`t get to do things.

yes im 13 and i hate when adults or even older teenagers wont tell u sumthing cuz they think ur too young to know but most of the time you've really already heard all about the whole subject

I think you just proved why they think you're not mature. I've never had that problem, because I've always been responsible and I do what they ask me...therefor they've given me more privileges, and more room to make my own decisions. Just try being more responsible, and do more of what they ask...and eventually they'll let you do more of what you want. K? Take care!

You'll learn.

*edited to add* Their house, their rules. They pay for everything for you, keep a roof over your head, and put food on the table. Like I said, in time you will appreciate it and not be such a brat about it.

And if you're grounded you probably deserved it.
