I have a leak in the roof of my feed shed, and with all this rain we've been getting, some of my hay got wet. My boyfriend's mom said it could catch fire when it gets wet, and based off how hot it was, I believe her. I just don't know how that would work. Any ideas?

YES that is true.
Unstack that hay IMMEDIATELY if it's hot. If you aren't sure you got it all take a steel rod and drive down in the hay...leave it several hours. pull it out and if it's too hot to grab onto unstack some more.

Yes, it's real, it's biologically caused (bacteria I think) and it's dangerous. Get that wet hay out of there!
