I just ignore the kids questions and find other pages of questions that make sense and if I have an answer I answer if not I just browse thru the different categories.It doesnt matter where you are on the net theres going to be kids or adults that annoy you so just ignore the stupidity and have fun without that.If you ignore the kids they may go away but if you keep answering and making remarks to them the more they invite so if you want rid of them go where you can get interested in a site.I really enjoy this site myself.I think we all can learn something new from this site by reading others answers.Quite interesting to me so Im staying .

Yeah- there sure are a lot of really dumb questions- half of which have so many typos in them it's hard to tell what's even being asked. And there are certainly plenty of questions that a simple web search would answer.
However- when I needed some opinions on what all-in-one printer/fax/copier to buy for my needs- I got a bunch of mediocre suggestions, and one guy who knew his stuff and was very helpful.
So- the moral of the story is... be the guy/gal who's really helpful.
So, if this site is idiotic- it's because of the people using it. And hey... we're the people using it.

No, I don't find it idiotic in the least. I do however find some of the questions idiotic as well as some of the answers given. BUT then that is part of life. I get amusement out of this site as well as some knowledge. And if you are that brilliant that you don't need the site or you are that bothered by it then leave. Byeeeee

I get a little tired of some of it sometimes when people are especially vulgar or mean or paste some endless diatribe, but for the most part I still like it. I've gotten some good answers, and I think provided some and it's good for some chuckles usually.
I can't seem to help myself from doing it also.

The key is selectivity. I try to avoid question right off that appear to be ridiculous and I have also learned to avoid certain ids. I wish I could put on a filter to do this for me. Maybe some day Yahoo will have it.
But if you look, you will find that there are people with legit questions who do want and need help.

i actually think its a helpful website for those who use it wisely, i have asked only one question and answered a lot of peoples queries
there are plenty of idiots out there in the world, and it would have been miraculous if they avoided this site, but that is how it is

Yea, I get bored with it now and then. But, watching TV is also a waste of good time. Mostly I come on here to unwind after a long day. Sometimes I'll just read comments and sometimes I'll find one that peaks my interest, like this one. Yahoo Answers is mostly entertainment, not a place for factual information. Thanks for asking this question, it needed to be asked.

I don't think the site is idiotic but the people who ask how to do illegal things, or the people who don't want to google something and find out instantly.

I thought it was idiotic the very first time I visited. I would never ask for advice from all these losers and certainly would put any stock into anything said here. I only come back for the pure entertainment value. Plus, my brother adds his answers and emails them to me and I hvae come close to sharting myself from laughing so hard.

If you want to weed out all the fools, then try to pick a category to hang out in.
You won't get so many questions like
"I think this guy likes me, but I'm not sure if he knows I like him?"
Or those horrific grammer ones from people pretending to know english:
"What takes for female companion good wife parter. Helping?"
