i really want to know this

hum, i'm brasiliam and i think that portugueses is similar to spanish, few things! at least we understand what they say... but sometimes they dont understand what we say!
it is strange; but for we; spanish is more learnable then english!the worlds changes several times... and became hard to understand..

This is like saying is French or Italian like being Spanish. Portugal is on the same peninsular but the language and culture are different.

Not at all, they are a total differen culture.
Besides the concept of Spanish is referred to the habitants of Spain, however, you can find so many cultures in there: Gallegos, Euzcadis, Vascos, Catalanes, for instance, Euzcaids claim that they should be a different country than Spain.

They are two seperate countries on the same land mass. Portugal is connected to Spain. The young lady who stated that portugal is an island off of Mexico needs to get her facts straight.

i think so. my bus driver was from portugese and he speaked english and spanish. but portugal is a island by mexico. not in mexico. they are 2 different countries.

Not really. They are two quite distinct countries with their own languages and culture. It is like saying is being French similar to being German just because they have a common frontier.

LOL...Portugal is an entirely different country, although it borders Spain. They speak a different langauge. A lot of Portuguese are in Brazil.
