I started taking Spiro (200 mg twice a day) for hirsutism and I've actually noticed weight LOSS (10 pounds in a month with no other changes to diet/exercise). It's a diuretic so it will make you lose water weight. It might make you feel more sluggish and have less energy though since it lowers blood pressure, so perhaps that's contributing to the weight gain.

If I'm not mistaken, that is a kind of diuretic medication that I take because of liver disease. I don't know if I increased in weight because of it, but I don't think so. It may increase my appetite, which would be a reason to give it to people with liver disease. I know that doesn't really help you much, but I had never thought about the correlation.
