wow, I do not know if i believe or not only b/c i have never had a personal experience but I have seen some great evidence from this show/group called TAPS.
Anyway, If the woman is afraid to go into this room, you have to wonder. I would agree that it is not fair because she can not really rationalize what may be happening to her and it is really a form of torture. Ouch, sorry that sounds harsh.. do you understand what I am getting at though?
Heres an Idea... why don't you spen a night oe three in there and see whats going on. OR how about a camera?
Good luck and GOD bless for reaching out for others.

You would have a difficult time convincing a judge, or a lawyer, that this autistic woman can actually see a ghost, but if you can find her another room, or make some other arrangements without bring in lawyers, judges or other rigid and unimaginative individuals, you would be doing her, and the little boy, a huge favor

Change her room if she is scared.
Note that most 'ghosts'are just electromagnetic interference, a scar on the ether of the planet, like a movie playing over and over. There are places in the UK when in certain circumstances, whole legions of Roman soldiers march past with horses and carriages, usually in silence and walking at a foot or so below the road level as roads have built up over the years.
Communication is rare as there is no intelligence there but of course sometimes it may be a genuine entity with which you can communicate, generally using psychic abilities.

I do not believe in ghosts, but that shouldn't matter.
The issue is this woman's psychological perception that the room is "haunted"--which unfortunately, it sounds like you've vindicated to her. This is only exacerbating the problem, enabling her fear-response to the environment, and actually encouraging it to increase.
Get her out of there; it is indeed abusive to terrorize her this way. If it would help (I can't believe I'm writing this) get the room "cleaned" by one of those nut-job parapsychology types. This should help to put her mind at ease. Remember, it's HER perception of things that ARE reality for her. Act on that.
Very best of luck to you!

Yes I feel that it is abusive. I believe there are ghosts. I've felt their presence. So far I've been lucky enough that none have wanted to harm me. But if somebody doesn't want to sleep where they know there is a presence, then they shouldn't have to.
