Murakami, Kijo. (1865-1938).

First autumn morning:
the mirror I stare into
shows my father's face.

Kijo, is one of my favorite late haiku masters. He wrote in the Meji period when Japan was undergoing industrialization. Although his hokka follow the rules set down by Basho, they
have an existential flavor, rather than zen in their wabi-sabi.
But why not choose your own haiku? Here is a good site in English: http://www.toyomasu.com/haiku/

I wrote this one when I was a student at Langston University, a formerly all black university, attending on a minority scholarship (I"m white). Sitting next to me was a beautiful young woman from an African tribe that gives beauty cuts that heal into bumps. She was looking yummy, exotic, but I had been working outside all day, and I needed a shower. The scene set, here it is:

Oh ebony girl
Object of fantasy filth
Pit stink prevents it

A dead chrysanthemum
and yet - isn't there still something
remaining in it?

He says a word,

The winds that blows -
ask them, which leaf on the tree
will be next to go.

A gold bug -
I hurl into the darkness
