I think that my bike jerseys and shorts are more or less too tight and bright colored to be associated with rebelling... Besides, I wear a helmet as any serious cyclist should! A rebellious one wouldn't. I take my cycling very seriously and I do it often, but I would not expect to be labeled a "rebel" for it, and I was just curious as to why cyclists are labeled as such. Thank you!

When you mention "bike" I think people are thinking of a motorcycle. I don't think that people that go "bicycle" riding are rebels. I think it is very wise that you wear a helmet. My husband's passion in life is cycling "bicycle" also. He wears the tight shorts and shirts and a very cool looking colorful helmet. I think guys look attractive in all that getup when they are out riding and I always take a double look. My husband says that he gets whistled at by women a lot when he's out riding and that once when he was paying for a beverage at a gas station the lady cashier just kept staring at his private area. When he told me this I just laughed and laughed my head off. He is so funny. Please continue to enjoy your cycling, and do it to your heart's content!

Sincerely, sweet Cherry Blossom :o)

well maybe you said it wrong maybe they thought that you were a hard core motorcycolist, which could make you a rebel, or maybe they just thought that you rode your cycle in the middle of the road which would make you an *** but still, and does your helmet have skulls on it and do your short have the word rebel on the back? well if so then i would think that you were a pretend rebel but still. good luck with the rebelhood.

I think that's pretty ignorant too. If you're a harley type of a biker with all tattoos and stuff then maybe but if you got a sports bike, that aint a rebel but it does make you koo. I have a modified tuner car. It doesnt make me a rebel.

Yep...stereotype...there's a Deacon at my Catholic parish who does the leather and German army helmet routine. More than once the cops have been called on him after he's been seen pulling into the parking lot and going into the office. He, like 99% of bikers I know, is a perfectly nice family man who gets his kicks out of riding with the motorcylce crowd.

Maybe they think you mean you ride a motorcycle. I would never call a cyclist a rebel, those speedo jumpsuit things are pretty gay.
