7.00 an hour is not wages either. The reason is plain and simple, if they raise minimum wage they have to raise pensions for the older people because this will raise the cost of living index. It is a shame that most businesses do not do this on their own til they are told. This wouldn't be in front of Congress now. Social Security checks would take a hike and everything else would too. Food would go up, clothing would go up in price, along with everything else. Where is the improvement? I know people have families to support but someone needs an education, then they can be a Legislature. This country no longer has the businesses but is service oriented. If business would be allowed in this country things would change, but their not.

Uh, those guys went to school and made a life for themselves so that they would not have to worry about low wages, some people do not deserve more. Seriously, why are people supposed to be entitled to something they did not earn?
