Pet stores sell pieces of slate (Gray, Black, Red). Slate comes in many sizes and shapes. A thin flat long piece can be angled into the corner of the tank to create a hiding place behind the slate. (Angles and other fish will lay eggs on the outside of the slate and the slate can easily be removed from the corner moving the eggs into a tank to be hatched. Rocks and stones can be glued together using silicone rubber (100%) into any design you like to create caves or houses. A large rock can be placed in the center of the tank and a piece of slate can be leaned against it to form an area where fish can dig into the gravel and create a hiding place. Put plenty of plants in the tank around the rocks to give the fish cover and to make the tank look like a natural setting. If you have problems with live plant use plastic plants. Plastic plants can also be bought in some craft stores for under a dollar.

Here is what you can do. First get about ten pounds more of gravel. Take a empty plastic container like from a butter spread and cut out part of the side. About 2 or 3 inches. Place the container upside down over the existing grave and poor the new gravel all over the top until it is no longer visible. Then take some rocks to put in the front to give it the appearance that it is a natural cave. The fish will also enjoy having a changing landscape as well. Flat is boring.

A pretty common solution is terra cotta pots for plants. They are non-toxic.
We used landscaping rocks. They are stacked so that there are caves and hiding places all over.
Be sure to put the rocks on the aquarium bottom and push gravel around the base of them. Cichlids are diggers. They can dig the gravel out from under the rocks making a structure you built unstable. Many cichlids have been crushed or trapped due to digging.

Two things chichlids love. Clay flower pots and holey rocks. You can get the rocks at a pet store, or if you live in an area with a lot of limestone you can find a construction area and pick them up off the ground. The flower pots you can get just about anywhere. Make sure they are big enough for your fish to get insid, but not so large they overpower the tank. We bury our pots in the gravel with only the openings showing, sort of on their sides. Our fish love it.

1st off stop using all caps - it's as if you are yelling and it's annoying to read.
2ndly - where did you get your fish? Go back to the store and look for houses. you can also check online.
3rd - have you thought about shells - large shells like concha's? These are fish so you can get something from the beach make sure it's properly cleaned and use that and the fish can hide in it.

You can use clay flower pots. I have seen pet shops that specialize in cichlids use them.
