My computer was super fast, I have DSL. But for the last couple of days, it has become soooo slow. It drives me crazy! What can I do to get it back to its normal speed? Any help will be so much appreciated. Thanks!

Go to 'my computer', 'local disk', and do a 'disk cleanup'. Then to 'tools' on the same drive and do a 'disk check' then 'defragment'. Depending on how long, if ever, you last did these tasks, will depend on how long it takes. You should be back to speed when all is done......

I think that there is only about a 10% chance that is a virus, or any ofther malicous software problem. I think that you need to contact your ISP and maybe even have them come over there, because a lot of problems can be solved that way. Also, you didn't say if you were using a wireless setup, so I am assuming you are not, but if you are, then try clicking on the little computer in the tray next to the clock in the buttom right of the screen, and clicking repair.

First of all, confirm with ur ISP whether is there any speed related problem in ur area. Secondly, run a scan for spywares and then for viruses. I believe it must be from the ISP's side. I wont suggest you to download this or download that for this problem. Anyways, at least scan ur computer for possible threats just for satisfaction. I recommend you to visit http://safety.live.com (Microsoft's free online scan for viruses, spywares etc.) and run a "Full Service Scan". It will detect and solve ur problem if ur ISP denies his part.

Based on what you assert. It's rough to determine what the hassle is. You didn't say whether or not you're making use of High velocity or dial or wi-fi. If you're making use of a wi-fi web, it might be sign barrier hassle. If you're making use of High velocity, it might be spyware and adware hassle, if dial up, might be bandwidth hassle. If you had been making use of you pc good enough earlier than. I do not believe it is pc hassle. Modem vigor surge hassle could also be feasible.

Always start with a spyware removal program to see if you've been hijacked.
