August 13 just after midnight UTC (old Greenwich)
This is Perseids. I'll leave you to work out what is the time for you. It's going to be earlier in the evening (12th) for Americans, so probably not so good. But that time is predicted maximum and you will see meteors at times either side of that.
However, after midnight is best time to see meteors at any time.
Be patient and get in a dark place. Around that time you should see several a minute if you are in a dark enough place.
See http://comets.amsmeteors.org/
Best site for comets and meteors. Look at the calendar on there and pick August. You can read information about the Perseids.
PS - Oops, yes, forgot about the moon. It will tend to spoil things, but you will still see the brighter meteors.

The Perseid meteor shower peaks on August 12th, not the 22nd. This is a bad year for viewing since the moon will be very bright.

I'm not so sure about meteor showers, but that date has been predicted for another type of fireworks show. See the Reform Party Leader in Syria's prediction. He thinks Iran will nuke Israel on that date. Not kidding.
