completely...usually what happens is that they discover that they can get themselves to a sitting position and then they learn to crawl..these are called parallel skills..should your son be sitting himself up then he should be crawling any day...if not then it will happen soon enough...my girls all got themselves to sitting around 8 1/2 months and then crawled shortly after...

Don't worry too much. You will hear stories of recent and long ago of babies not quite crawling. What is important is that they have an interest in moving somehow.

For example, my sister went straight from rolling to cruising, skipping the crawling stage.

My son, however, has spent about a month crawling and was premature.

Every child is going to be different. All that you need to worry about right now is that he's healthy. The doctor won't even worry if you ask her/him!

Yes. My son wasn't crawling at eight months either. Now, he's just turned one, and he's running all over the place. This is the calm before the storm. Enjoy it.

my son is almost 11 months old and has not yet crawled. he didn't even sit well until he was about 9 months. just let him roll around on the floor alot and if he does anything, like get up on his hands and knees, cheer him on and encourage him. that's what i do with my son and he's just about ready to get crawling! any day now...

Ask your doctor to check him out and see if he is developing at the stages he should give it time and do things with his legs so that it can help some with his movement and so forth, Basically kids move at different rates maybe he will be the one that will run and not crawl at all but get a second opinion to be on the safe side.

My son was just over 8 months when he crawled. I did just read however that children who are good crawlers walk later...and children who don't crawl much or late walk earlier!
