I usually pull my pants up real high to hopefully cover and squish them. but with every stand up, sit down, i find myself always playing around with my pants, and i can never feel good about my apperance in public. Im not active as i used to be, and to busy to work out. Im at the perfect weight for my height, 127, 5''7... i just want to get rid of the ugly monsters dragging me down. :( ... HELP. its summer time, & i want to feel confident in myself & in a cute bikini or jeans. xOx.*

It's going to take some time to get in shape and loose the weight. First talk to a doctor or a nutritionist. They can help you figure out the easiest and quickest way to get to your target weight. You may be embarassed at first, but you must realize doctor's get all kinds of questions from people that you would never dare ask. Now what keeps you so busy that you can't exercise? Busy people usually don't have the problem of being overweight unless you're working a strenuous desk job. If that's the case, make sure you get up every half hour or hour. Stretch. When you have a chance run or jog. Watch your calorie intake. Do you drink lots of pop and sugary sweets? Switch to green tea, cold or hot. Eat more fruits and vegetables for snacks. Get a video tape on Pilates. Wake up early if you have to and work out with the tape. Pilates is one of the major programs used by celebrities and it's tough. It burns lots of calories. Also get plenty of sleep and make sure you are getting all of your vitamins. Vitamin defeciences and lack of sleep can cause your bodies metabolism to go down. Whatever you do, don't starve yourself. Eating less causes your body to hold onto weight. Eat 5 times a day with small meals. Make sure you drink enough water too. Don't binge and purge or take any drastic measures to get your weight down. It'll just ruin your body.

First of all, no one is too busy to exercise. If it's important enough to you then you'll do it. So do SOMETHING every day, even if it's a 15-minute walk or 20 sit-ups whenever you can squeeze them in. Your other weapon against flab is diet. Here are a few tips:

1. Drink only water, unsweetened tea or coffee, and milk (soft drinks/juice are Public Enemy Number One for your midsection because of all the sugar)

2. Cut out junk food, fast food, and anything that has any type of partially hydrogenated oil in it (Public Enemy Number Two for your midsection)

3. Take a tablespoonful of olive oil 3 times a day, preferably before meals (olive oil is a natural appetite suppressant and it's high in monounsaturated fat, which is VERY good for you)

4. Build your diet around these other weight-loss-friendly foods:

-- Nuts of any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans and legumes
-- Green vegetables (go for raw spinach)
-- Lowfat dairy products
-- Eggs (high in protein and monounsaturated fat)
-- Lean meats, especially fish and poultry
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruit (berries top the list)

5. For half a day, once a week, chuck the rules and eat whatever you want -- just don't stuff.

Good luck!

First off, let me say that I spent 6 years in the Navy, so I made a few deployments myself. We were rarely in harm's way as there were no conflicts going on at that time. Nonetheless, we were still away from friends, families and loved ones for 4-6 months. You can't spend the whole time agonizing every minute about if something has happened to him. You will only end up making yourself miserable and physically sick if you do. Being 17, can I assume you are still in school? If so, immerse yourself in your studies, your school, and your friends. You will cherish the memories years after graduation. Write to him on a regular basis, send Care packages when you can (be sure to know what you can and can't send), DON'T spend hours watching the news about the war, but do pray for him and all the troops over there (if that is your beliefs) every day. I would caution against making some type of countdown calendar marking the days until he gets home, as the brass has a nasty habit of extending deployments at the last second. If they give you a coming-home date, plan to have it changed at the last second and if they don't and he comes home on time, great. Lastly, if his unit has a family support group, get involved with it. Most are designed for spouses and parents, but I think they all welcome girlfriends. God bless you and your boyfriend and may His loving arms hold him safe until he returns. Pass on to him America is proud of his sacrifice.

There are three choices really - eat fewer calories, exercise more, or learn to live with it. Even with a busy life there should still be time to put in a little exercise too. Swimming is best, cause it exercises your body loads, and uses lots of calories, plus you don't need to do it for long. A couple of hours a week may even be enough.

Cut the crap and exercise. Are you that busy that you cant do a ten minute jog around the block? Get you butt off the couch sister and do some sport or else in a year or two it wont be only love handles you'll be worried about.

Theres no way to reduce love handles without excercising

but you may starve..which is only a temporary solution....once you starve you have to keep starving periodically cos weight lost keeps coming back again once u begin eating...
only excercise can truly solve it!!...or if u have lots of money..get some plastic surgery...liposuction for only that area.

You can do sit ups or crunches in the morning when you wake up and at night before you go to sleep. Get into the habit of exercising. You will look and feel better.

sorry - there is no easy magical cure. your options are exercise, low-fat diet, or surgery (liposuction) i would recommend some moderate diet changes - cut out fatty foods (cheese, mayo, ice cream, anything fried) and start walking more - also do some stretching in the morning and leanover side to side to work your problem areas. I'm sorry you say you are busy. if you want it - you gotta work for it....
