It seems like every time I make friends, it turns out that sooner or later I find out they really aren't my friends. It's really devastating. So far I've lost 3 friends and worst of all, I've never had a boyfriend or anything. I guess I feel that If I can't even maintain a friendship- how can I maintain any other close relationship? I've tried going to church and getting involved with church activities to meet new people- only I don't really feel involved or that anyone even notices I'm there.( Though the church is rather large). I just don't know what to do! Please Help!

Maybe you are being too idealistic in your relationships, or you expect people to be perfect. So that if they make a mistake, you view it as the end of your friendship. Try being more forgiving, understanding--and less judgmental.

raise your standards for the kind of people you want to be friends with and that's triple for a potential boyfriend...
read lot's of relationship books... it may seem cheesy but it helps you to understand the kind of people that are out there...good luck!!!
