It was December 22, 2003 at approximatly 9:00 p.m. I was lying with my husabnd on our black metal frame futon crying histarically because I thought I just wasn't ready to be a mother and how horriable our lives would be after we had our daughter because we wouldn't ever have any money ever again and life was generally going to be ruined. Suddenly I felt a feeling like a big thick industrial size rubberband snapped inside of me and I instantly stopped crying. My husabnd asked what was wrong and I told him nothing, just what I had just felt and I was ok and happy again. He sheepishly asked if my water had broke and I said Nahhh... I think there would be water or something right? YES THERE WAS, as soon as I stood up GUSH!!!!! Like Niagra Falls. I rushed to the bathroom and stood in the shower hoping it would soon come to an end, I later found out the only way for it to stop gushing was to lay down and be still. I attempted to change my clothes (I put a pad down for protection, what a joke:) ), finished packing my bag (DUH ME!) and called my family (we live away from them). We headed to the hospital and finally got checked in P.S. If you go into labor or your water breaks after hospital regular hours you'll have to check in at the E.R. (a big pain in the @&% !!!) I finally got in and the nurse aked me why I was there (DUH) and I told her my water broke, they never believe you they just assume that you peed yourself, and they use this litmus paper to see if the fluid continually gushing out of you is aminotic fluid. Finally at around 5:00 a.m. ( after a lovely epidural and several bouts of vomiting) (gross) the doctors and nurses had noticed the every time I vomited our daughter's heart rate would drop REALLY low, and if she couldn't tolerate that how would she tolerate delivery? The decesion was made to perform an emergency c-section and at 6:28 my beautiful, healthy daughter Veronica was born weighing 7lbs. 4oz. and was approx 20 in long. (was that detailed enough if so may I have the points?)

1. I was in the hospital both times. First time it happened after I had my epidural. The gushing woke me up from my sleep. Second time the doctor broke it for me. I was induced and the doctor broke it with a special tool in order to get my labor going.
2. First time it was middle of night. Second time middle of day.
3. First time a gush. Second time a small gush followed by a lot of trickling.
4. Both times it was only a few hours before I gave birth.

Unfortunatley both times my water was broken with the giant crochet hook but with my son I worked at a wrecking yard as a receptionist and i worked with all guys who were always saying how gross it would be if it broke at work and I wanted it to so bad!! I would have LOVED to gross them out even though it's not really gross...it would have been fun...
