The warm weather has been wreaking havoc with pools, ponds and even the ocean, as record algae blooms have been recorded.
If standard algaecides don't work, you may have to take trojan measures. Copper can be be used to treat some types of algae, but may or may not be allowed in your area, and you may or may not have the type of algae that responds to it.
Check with a large landscaper to see what they are using in your area, and what works best there.

We fought our pool for 2 weeks and we finally got it clear again. First we put in Clorox about a gallon for every 4000 gallons of water. Then we ran the pool 24 hours seemed to help. Two days later completely green again. Then we put in Drop-Out which is suppose to drop the algae, to the bottom of the pool this worked. Then we had to vacuum the pool which stirred it up again. So the next day the bottom was covered again. revaccuumed again. Finally it was clear with about 5 hours a day working on it. We bought some algicide from Wallmart that was to last 3 months. It now is beautiful after tons of work and tons of money. If its not a large pool drain it and scrub and refill. Good Luck our pool is 35,000 gallons.
