If Bonds plays for at least one more season and can stay healthy, he can do it for sure. He's not that far away.
Other contenders that have the best shot if they stay healthy and play long into their careers would be Alex Rodriguez and Albert Pujols.
Griffey made a good run but his injury plagued body the last few years will not allow him to do so. He is in the Hall of Fame for sure, but since he has been in and out for the last 4-5 years, there isnt much chance for him to break it unless he plays til hes 45.

I think Barry will overtake Aaron if his body remains intact long enough and if he can go longer than one more season. His biggest goal, however, was to overtake Babe for 2nd place. Griffey Jr has little chance. 30-40 something HRs will get him to 5th place over Sammy Sosa, but the others are much too far ahead of 5th for him to be able to get farther than that. Albert Pujols has a good chance if he avoids further injury.

umm...hello!!..he already broke babe ruth's record and the next one on the list is the all-time leader, Hank Aaron, and I hope that he doesn't break hammerin Hank's record. The man with teh best chance at this point is either Pujols, A-rod, or perhaps even a healthy Griffey Jr.

i dont think barry will overtake HANK AARON but theother best contenders to get to the 700 mark will be A-Rod, Albert Pujols, adam dunn, and Ken Griffey Jr. and as a long shot i have Andruw jones, miguel cabrera, Lance Berkman(very long shot) and Jim Thome

First of all he already took over Babe's record he is chasing Hank Aaron now and yes I think A-Rod will get the record if he stays healthy.

I am hoping Ken Griffey Jr can do it. He is just your everyday quiet player who plays without much recognition
