War of the Worlds, the one with Tom Cruise. The theater that my dh and I saw it at was an hour away from our home town and at the time, our son was only a few months old, so all i wanted to do want rush home and be with him. Needless to say, we didn't leave right away but i did step outside to call the babysitter and check up on my son. That movie just seemed so believable, especially the mass exodus of ppl...the thought is terrifying.

I can't allow anything to get tangled up in my body's specs for staying healthy and well rested, but aside from the Exorcist? I think Stephen King's Misery was very tense and the Shining...for get about it. Scary stuff. Oh, for classy scary...Delores Claiborne really gave me nervous jitters.

If you are a Star Wars fan and have a high-speed Internet connection, go to www.theForce.net. Download the Reign of the Fallen movie. It isn't particularly scary, but the ending will cause your jaw to drop. (It did to me anyway.)
I don't like movies that cause the loss of sleep. My life has been thrilling enough.

Blair Witch Project, not that it's terrifying when you watch it but i went camping soon after seeing it and it was freaky. My current job puts me in the middle of the woods at night quite a bit and I can still freak myself out thinking about it to much :o) When I was a kid though, Poltergeist

The first Alien movie. Saw it in the theater when I was about 10. Totally suspenseful. Scared the crap out of me.
Jaws still creeps me out...
