My son was 11 weeks and his pediatrician said swimming in a pool is fine. Just keep the baby in a onesie and hat to protect from the sun. My pediatrician also said sunblock was okay on a baby under 6 months just try a little on his foot to see if he has a reaction wait a day and if no reaction just put a very little on his exposed areas. Try and get sunblock with zinc oxide..

Yes I recently asked this question to my pediatrician. She said make you use 50 SPF and the chap stick form for his face. Always keep a hat on and don't stay in the water very long. The hours between 10 and 2 are the worst times to go swimming.
I know the little swim trunks are cute but the more you cover the less you have to worry about burning. He will be wet anyway so he will be cool.
I live in the south and right now if you are gong outdoors in a pool is where you should be.
Happy Swimming!!!

Sure why not. Just make sure that you take precautions with sunscreen and safety. If it is something that is going to happen often, you can get swimming lessons for him. I have been told that the closer to birth that you get the lessons, the easier it will be for them to do it. No, I don't mean that he will be able to swim laps with you, but being able to go underwater and hold his breath and actually do the swimming motions. Call the baby's pediatrician and ask them for some advice and referrals.

Definatley!!! Swimming is best taught from a young age and children that young still have the lungs for it! Just take some precautions in regards to water temp. Also dont submerge your little one. You dont want them to panic.
Swimming is a great way to build trust between parent and child!

Mine did just be careful they don't get too cold only stay in the pool about 15 min or so unless the water is heated also make sure you rinse them well afterward all the chemicals in the pool are very irritating to sensitive skin.

Not if the water is really cold. It needs to be heated, or warm
