It is possible that an ocean current could block the flow of another, warmer current, which would affect the temperature of the areas the warmer current flowed against. If this blocking current was colder and replaced the warmer current it would, in effect, allow for colder air to flow over the area and cause general cooling. This might contribute to a reduction in the overall temperature.

Global Warming will create extremes on both ends, cooling and heating. Depends on which currents. Some are warm some are cool. I believe it would be the manipulation of them by factors created by global warming that would create a cycle and contribute to the creation of the extremes.

Like global warming, global cooling does not exist. So it couldn't.
