There's different STD's out there. Some are more virulent than others, some more common, and it depends on who you're sleeping with, and in what city.
Knowing someone will not get rid of their STD's either.
Most Americans have HSV1, which is oral herpes (or cold sores), this can be transmitted as an STD. If you aren't using a condom, there's a good chance you'll get herpes at some point. HPV, the virus that causes genital warts is far more common and is capable of making a mess out of your genitals or destroying a woman's reproductive system. Don't be that guy to carry it and give it to unsuspecting women.
Syphilis, clamidia and gonorrhea are all out there, but can be treated. You will know it when you get it.
Crabs are not so common anymore, but are basically a lice infestation in your crotch. If you are harry enough, they will spread all over you if you do not treat them.
HIV, HBV, and HCV will kill you, and they are out there. You are less likely to get infected after being exposed than a woman is, but you can and will get it if you are not cautious. Big cities like DC, Baltimore, San Francisco, New York, Miami, London, Paris...etc are hot spots for these, as are third world countries, so mind your bits and pieces.
You chances of being infected by an STD depend a lot on your partner. Who are they? Have they had STD's? How many people have they been with? Did you use a condom? Do you live in a big city? Was it straight sex or anal? Anal sex is way riskier in terms of contracting a disease.
Go get yourself tested for the works. A typical STD test runs about $100 and is covered by most insurance policies. From now on, use condoms, know your partner and their sexual history, and be careful. Every time you sleep with someone, you are exposing yourself to everyone they have slept with, along with their STD's. Worth the gamble? Let me know.

Did you ask the question before you got to the treasure chest? If not, then I guess you got to wait to see if any symptoms show up. It's a gambling game out there 50-50, if the person was infected, very good chance. If the person wasn't, good luck was on your side. Next time do US ALL a favour; protect yourself so you don't pass on the **** to some else.

Very good. My husband works with AIDS infected people and trust me, it's not fun to have AIDS. Of course there are tons of other little dieases to catch. Not to mention unwanted pregancy. My question to you is why would you sleep with someone you don't even know? That sounds like you may not respect yourself. I wish you would not do that because it's very dangerous and unhealthy. You need to love yourself {I don't mean masturbation either LOL}. Why would you want to put your life at risk for a roll in the hay? It's not worth it to me.

Your chances are excellent if that person happens to be infected. Estimates of STD carriers are scary high. Your chances drop a LOT if you simply use a condom.

HERPES….TEENAGE SEX IS DANGEROUS
NEW YORK (Reuters Health)
Infections with the VIRUS that causes genital herpes are common among teen girls, a new study shows.
WHILE NONE OF THE YOUNG WOMEN IN THE STUDY HAD ORAL OR GENITAL HERPES SYMPTOMS, SOME OF THOSE WHO TESTED POSITIVE FOR THE VIRUS WERE SHEDDING IT IN THEIR VAGINAL AREA, MEANING IT WOULD BE POSSIBLE FOR THEM TO TRANSMIT THE INFECTION TO OTHERS.
A national survey of the US population conducted between 1988 and 1994 found that more than one in five people over 12 had blood tests that showed evidence for infection with herpes simplex virus 2 (HSV 2), the virus typically responsible for genital herpes,
Among the women who developed new HSV 2 infections, none had symptoms of genital herpes, but three were shedding the virus in their vaginal area.
It is likely that at least some of the new HSV 1 infections that occurred among women in the study were genital, given that genital HSV 1 infections are quite common in young adults, the researchers note.
They conclude, "HSV infections are common in adolescent women." They point out that efforts to reduce these infections "need to target children before adolescence."

A lot. Having sex with someone you don't know is a very dangerous thing to do especially if you don't have protection. You can get STDs which are very gross and painful. My suggestion is think real hard before you do something because you may regret it later on.

You should always wear protection! so if god forbid you did something stupid like sleep with someone you didn't know, you would be OK(but not always 100%) If you did and didn't wear protection I would go get yourself checked out right away!

If you're sleeping with someone you don't know could you imagine how many people they've slept with that they don't know.
Use a condom and pray. Better why sleep with them I hope you're not desperate.

EXTREMELY HIGH!! You are sleeping with all the people that person has had any sexual contact with too. I know a guy that received oral sex. He caught herpes from just oral sex because she had a open blister on her mouth!!!!
Buy lots of condoms and dental dams!!!
