There's nothing wrong with getting sidetracked by the less important things in our lives, as long as you pay attention to what is really important most of the time. And it's clear that you do. If you weren't paying attention you wouldn't know about the innocents whose lives were lost. And if you didn't care you wouldn't feel sad. So, it's OK to dwell on how your hair looks once in a while. It is true, though, that seeing what's happening in other parts of the worlds makes our problems seem inconsequential in comparison. You are a thoughtful person. God bless!

Do bears crap in the woods? The news has learned that negative news sells. With that said, it would be helpful to report positive news more often. Too much negative news makes us feel like the world is just not worth living in. This is not the message the news stations should be conveying. The need to find a balance so as not to create excess grief and or fear.
Don't worry be happy. It'll all work out in the end : )

" It is so nice to see this question because I too battle more so lately this very same issue." My heart breaks. And in the same way I too have many things that are meaningless to what is going on in the world. I am only happy to know that I have had enough common sense to realize it is time to wake up and realize these issues on the news are not going to go away by simply shutting off the television and closing my eyes and heart to it.. You are not alone, there are many of us who feel the way you do. And all I can do is change myself and stick to it. Again, thank you for this question. It is comforting to see it when there is people who are too paying attention to the times we are living in and not just simply dismissing it. ♥
Psalms 37:10,11 " Just a little while longer and the wicked one will be no more; and you will certainly give attention to his place, and he will no be. But the meek ones themselves will possess the earth, and they will indeed find their exquisite delight in the abundance of peace."
2 Peter 3:9,15: " GOD is not slow respecting his promise, as some people consider slowness, but he is patient with you because he does not desire any to be destroyed but desires all to attain to repentance. Furthermore, consider the patience of our Lord as salvation."

In a fashion, specific I truly have become desensitized. The blink of a watch and dozens of hundreds perish. The disappearance of one little female seems by some skill to be on an equivalent footing. If I wasnt desensitized, i could throw up in a information-reporter's face. for a complete day.

Don't let the news depress you. Every time you see a starving child on TV, take a steak from your fridge and throw it straight in the trash. You'll feel better.
Seriously though, if we spent all our energy being sad about that kind of stuff, nothing would get done in this world.

I don't even bother waking up to the news anymore. I just watch the the weather channel see what the weather is then i go to work. Easy way to not go to work in a depressing mood.
