When I was 9, I had a question I needed an answer for so I went to ask my father. He looked at me and said, 'I don't know'.
I was stunned. My reply 'but I thought you know everything!'
I learned an important thing that day, that by nature we are all ignorant. And that is OK. As long as we keep learning the things we need to know.
As I like to point out, the difference between ignorance and stupidity is, - ignorance is curable... ;-)

I found out a long time ago, when he was always yelling at us, he is still imperfect. It's kind of sad really, he wants to be a better dad, but he never listens, it's all good so long as the house is clean and i'm the perfect daughter.

Well, no one is perfect. But, I found out my dad wasn't the person I thought he was my second year in college. What he did I refuse to say but it made me lose all trust and respect for him for a long time until he got saved.

OMG!!!! WHAT DO YOU MEAN? MY DAD IS TOO PERFECT!!! THAT'S IT, I'M TELLING MOM!!!! J/K As if, it's totally crushing to think of our parents in a non-perfect mistake making way. Can't put that kind of pressure on myself. I prefer to think of them as perfect and amazingly harmless and wonderful...AHHH! Those men with the white coats are chasing me again! Crap! How'd they find me??!?!!!!?!!!?!!!
