No, that's what the 2nd amendment is for.
We're supposed to already have enough weapons to form a militia.
It's what kept the Japanese from pressing their advantage after Pearl Harbor. They could have invaded California any time during the first 6 months after Pearl.
Why didn't they? They couldn't get enough troops to deal with all the armed rednecks they'd encounter if they tried to invade the US mainland.

We don't need weopons. We are weapons. If this country was invaded, Americans would kick some serious ***. The bikers are already armed. So are drug dealers, gangs, the police, many ordinary citizens, gun collectors, security officers. A majority of the population is already armed. They wouldn't have to be asked twice to defend our great nation.

Given weapons by who? Invaded by who? The most dangerous enemy we face is already here, in the form of the religious extremists. Since the current Administration and House of Representatives are already on their side, it's hard to imagine who is going to arm Americans to defend against them.

Knowing Bush and the way he is, I do not think we would have weapons given to us. If we were invaded we would only have the weapons we own.

We have the right to bear arms.
It being a right, we should be able to gather our own weapons rather than them be given to us.

Um, yeah..... I don't see us fighting a war on our own soil anytime soon..... but no, we wouldn't. Luckily, some of us already have some!!
