I have an hp pavilion ze4900. I've never had a problem with the battery before, but now everything shows that it is charging but it is still completely dead

unfortunately the only thing you can do is try a new battery and $100 later if that doesnt work it is probably your charging circuts in the machine...Then its time to buy a new laptop...everything has to go sometime...

I have seen this prob. many times. I actually spoke with a guy who left his laptop charging for 2 weeks and it still died after bieng unplugged. So whats the fix. I am 100% sure it is the laptop battery. Once you change that you will be fine. Hope this helps, good luck!

this could mean the battery has died and needs replaced, the laptop is not sending the charge to the battery.. this would need to be fix by a laptop eng.

It could be the battery or the power source that is trying to charge it. I have seen both so I am not sure, sorry.
