I can't confirm this, but it's quite possible that Michael Ballack is the highest paid player in the English Premier League. When a star player moves on a free transfer, his salary is always very high. Also, Chelsea are known to overpay both in transfer fees and salaries. Media reports speculate that Ballack is earning £180,000 a week (net). It wouldn't surprise me. Shevchenko must be earning quite a lot as well. I'm sure Arsenal rewarded Thierry Henry with a huge salary after the Frenchman agreed to a new contract this year. Apparently, Chelsea are ready to offer Frank Lampard an extension to his current contract. No doubt, he will continue to be among the top earners.

Shevchenko's transfer cost about $85 million.
Nobody is even sure what Henry gets, he just signed a new contract and it is undisclosed, Rooney's transfer was about £23m .
Ronaldinho doesn't play in the EPL
