I have Cingular Wireless and wether you've been harrassed or not, the number change and reconnection fee its about $40 with tax. I've changed it once.

yes. you would have to pay a fee. But if you tell them that you want to change service providers, they may do it for you for free.

If you tell them it is because you are getting harrassed or threatened, most phone companies should change it for free.
