They are not held by any law. They are just held.

They aren't POW's; they have no legal right or existence.

Thousands of Afghanis are US allies today. Could half the Gitmo detainees be good guys. Bush was 100% wrong on WMD. Is it certain that he is 100% accurate here?

Would it be more or less evil to have locked up 200 Michigan associates of Timothy McVeigh without trial?

Many of these people are probably guilty, but is it evil if many of them are not?

Umm ... no answers have been rational yet. Please provide a logical, legal foundation for interring people without trial.

They're being held because our president threw the Constitution out the window after 9-11. He helped bin-Laden's family members get OUT of the country in the days after 9-11, yet has held thousands prisoner for years without cause. Sounds like something you would expect from one of those "evil-doers" he is always talking about. Guess he has a seperate standard for himself.

They aren't guilty until proven under US law - but the Bush administration does not believe in either US or international law - such as the Geneva Conventions. The Afghanis are not American allies as the Taliban has increased in strength and attacks. We essentially protect Kabul and that's about it.

You are so wrong about almost everything you said in this question. Probably ALL of the detainees have information that we need. They ARE pows. There is PROOF of wmds. You need to do some REAL research!

(dont be offended, but its so hard to find REAL information anymore. Dont take it personally!)

for a country that prides itself on all are created equal
and innocent until proven guilty. guantanamo is the
height of hyprocisy. yes many of them probably are
guilty and they should be held accountable. some of
them are innocent and it is unconsionable to treat them
the way they are being treated.

I guess it must be Friday somewhere. (pop-whoosh)

There Muslims they are guilty.

Plus why do you even care. Allah will bless them for being prisoners. Do you want to change that? Do you not want Allah to bless them? Why if Allah wants to bless them do you not want them to be blessed? Do you think you are better than they are?
