Well, I felt like that for about a month before. I carried my baby very low the whole time, and she was born at 37 weeks. The next time you see the doctor, see how much farther you've dilated and if it's a bit more you may be close.

first if you are 34 weeks and already dilating, you should be on bedrest until closer to the end of the pregnancy. When the heads dropped with my pregnancies it still took me a few weeks to go into labor. I swear I walked around feeling like the baby was just going to fall out because the baby wsa so low down in the cervix. Give it a few more weeks to be safe for the baby and if things dont get better call the dr asap.

I delievered at 34 weeks to the day. My baby dropped at 30 weeks so low it was painful to walk {good thing i was on bedrest since week 26}. Being your first child most say it will be the longest labor but at 34 weeks your child should be fine very good chance nothing will be wrong if you delivered today. Mine had to be watched in the nursery for 24 hours under warming lights before he was allowed to "room in" with me he was born on a monday we took him home on weds. However you could remain at 1cm or 2cm for weeks, dont worry I wish you the best.

My daughter was like that for about a 1 1/2 months before I actually had her! She was 3 weeks early also but she was healthy as could be her apgar score was 10 which is as high as they get!! That has to do with their reflexes like crying, and reflexes and all of that! She and I were released from the hospital the next day! Don't worry you will be fine and your baby will be just fine!

At 35 weeks, I was 5cm dialated. I walked around like that for 6 more weeks. I thought he was just gonna grab a knee and pull himself out. Baby came at 41 weeks. That is where the pregnancy "waddle" comes from! Good luck.

You can stay at 1cm for a while. You've got time --- see, this is why during the last part of the pregnancy you hear from people who otherwise enjoy their pregnancy "get this baby out now" -- LOL. You don't have TOO much longer though. Hang in there.

oh wow hon- been there done that. 3 times and going on the forth. feels like that babys just gonna pop out on its head every time you stand up, go pee... blah blah blah....all the time. i was dialated to a 2 for a full 3 weeks with my 1st,, 2 with my second, and about 6 hrs with my 3rd...... just hang in there, take it easy.. VERY EASY! if you are really concerned, talk to your doctors so they can check your dialation and gauge an estimate as to whether you are progressing further, and that can help put your fears to rest even more than all of us fellow mommies out here can. good luck and here is wishing you another 6 weeks for you and your baby! take care... and remember lady- I SAID TAKE IT EASY.. :)

When I was pregnant with my daughter she stayed very low in my uterus. It was like walking around with a bowling ball between my legs! She dropped into position at 35 weeks and I had her at 38. She was born as healthy as could be and was 7lbs 9oz. I wish you luck and you will know when it is time. Don't worry, baby knows when to "push the button".

you still need few more weeks to be fully dilated, its normal to feel very heavy in your cervix is because your baby is preparing for labor.......
