I actually really like your question! Everyone says don't compare them, but I guess if you look at popular culture and public opinion the general consensus is that Harry Potter is better. I bet if you counted words from all 6 Harry Potter books and all the words from the Bible they would not be very numerically different. However, I would also be willing to wager that there is a significantly larger number of people who have read the entire Harry Potter series thus far than have read the entire Bible. I know kids and adults who have read Rowling's books dozens of times, but I don't think I could name half a dozen people who have read the entire Bible. I'm not trying to offend anyone just trying to point out some inconsistencies and maybe challenge a few stereotypes and judgements.

HARRY POTTER...why?

harry potter is a world that no one can beat. its the fantasy of everyone's dreams. people imagine living in this wonderful world. the world doesnt have to be perfect or anything like that. just...um...a place that you know there will always be someone waiting on the other side for you when you have lost your way. and if you think about it a lot of people rather read a book a lot less confusing than the bible. in my opinion id rather read an entire set of encyclopedias or journals that some guy wrote in the 1800s than try to read the bible.

I think the most printed book in the world is the bible, and in the top five list you can find Dracula, i think is way better than the Bible and Harry Potter.

Harry Potter is a magical heroic tale.
The Bible is a work of fiction.
Both might be worth reading someday
when I'm not so busy answering YA questions.

If you want escapist entertainment and a good laugh, Harry Potter. If you are looking for spiritual guidance or want to know more about the life and culture of the people of Israel during the bronze age go with the Bible.
