i have recently returned from a holiday and we were at a caravan park. me and my brother stewart liked to go down to the village late at night and enjoy the view at the see. but walking from the caravan to the village was in pitch black next to open fields and then large wooded areas. we both thought we sensed evil. now, was it just us being paranoid? was it a kind of sixth sense thing. i ament scared to go anywhere in the dark it was just there that we felt it. what do you think?

Fear of the dark; Commonly found in human children, it is an irrational fear of the unknown.

There are many possible explanations for what you and your brother felt that night, the first is that well there was already a sort of mood set, it was pitch black near woodlands with maybe the sound of the ocean, most people would feel slightly uneasy when in a situation like this due to events that happen around the world in situations like yours, murders etc... but as there was 2 of you and your both being men i would rule this out,as the reason for fear would be more explanable if you were woman, not always as some girls are pretty tough but id be very freaked out!!!. Another explantion would be that you were feeling what is called an anxiety trace, some people beleive that if a person experienced something horrific on a certain spot whether they died or not, that these feeling can some how be recorded in to the very stone, earth etc.. surrounding them, and then when time has passed if another person was to pass that same spot and this person was quite sensitive psychically then it is possible for them to feel those feelings, the person is usually confused due to this unexplained fear or feelings. And lastly i do beleive that it is possible that what you both sensed was a melevolent spirit, i beleive that sometimes a persons spirit or even an animals gets trapped on this earthly plain and wanders about the site of its death, these spirits sometimes do not realise they have passed and would maybe see you and your brother as intruders upon their land, and if the spirit was aware of the fact that it had died then it could just be that it did intend you harm, just as there are good people there are also bad. Im not suggesting that any of the explanations i have given to be the true cause of what happened that night, its just i have studied the paronormal a great deal and have heard many experiences from many of my most trusted friends and what happened to you guys is very common. If you are really curious as to whether it could be something sinister i would suggest looking into the history of that particular place, maybe you'll find some interesting results!.

I am a Spiritualist Medium and I believe what you experienced was indeed evil. If you sensed something beyond your fear of the dark, then this is evil, particularly as you say it was a 'sixth sense' thing and you both felt it. No, you are not paranoid. Sometimes, rather than a spirit person, there can be an imprint of a happening in a certain place. It could be that there had been something not nice had occurred in this place and you picked up that feeling psychically. I had a similar experience when I visited the ancient stones at Avebury - I sensed real fear, which I believe was the fear left behind by the poor souls who were sacrificed at this spot. Hope this helps.

I had a similar experience recently. It was nearly dark and I was walking down a country lane on my own. I saw a section of road in front of me covered by a canopy of trees and it looked pitch-black inside. I felt my heart flutter as I got closer. I could have turned back then. I'm sure many people would have done. But I continued. It was scary but nothing happened. No evil spirits came out to grab me, there were no vampires or werewolves or anything remotely scary. As my eyes adjusted to the darkness, my body returned to a normal, relaxed state and I was able to continue with my walk. I was so relaxed that I even walked back via an ancient graveyard I know.

However, I have walked through busy city centres at night on the way home from nightclubs. I have stayed in places which can easily be accessed via alleyways but are a pain to get to by road. Alleyways can be scary (and so can subway tunnels). You never know who's lurking about in an alley way - especially ones with bends in them and no lights. There is always a fear that someone's going to jump out with a knife or something - you hear it on the news all the time where someone has been in this situation. Now this is real fear. This is real evil.

I'd be more frightened of people than of the supernatural if I were you. You're more likely to be attacked by a person than you are by anything paranormal like a ghost, spirit or alien!

Next time you're in a field like that, just stop. Look up. Take 3 deep breaths and realise there is nothing supernatural to be afraid of. Then have a quick glance around to make sure there's no one dodgy lurking about. Either your imagination is running wild and is playing tricks on you or there IS someone watching you.

Well...I'd say it was just paranoia...Most people are afraid of the dark as they feel insecure; they do not know what to expect - it's the fear of the unknown.

I was once in the woods with a group of people and, at one point, one girl said she heard some funny noises. At first, I thought that was silly, but as those around me all began to hear funny noises and freak out, I kind of felt disoriented too. Now I'm sure that it was nothing, but it's hard to control yourself when everybody around you gets panicked.

It's easy to see why we seem to hear funny noises - your sight is not that good anymore, so your other senses become stronger -> your hearing. And since you cannot rely on what you see as you usually do at daytime, you don't need much in order to become alert.

That also applies to feeling something "evil" - you depend more on your instincts and less on reason. And let's not forget there are all those movies, books and myths about the evil spirits that come to haunt you at night.

you are NOT suffering from paranoia.
what you were suffering from is bad AURA.
there are energy's in the world that can give you the 'spooks'.
as for aura in the 90's scientists perfected a device that can detect aura so there it dose exist.
bad aura can be left behind from something recent e.g. like a couple having a fight in the aria or from a murder when the traumatic resonance remains so that you will be inclined to solve the mystery.
but according to belief at night evil energy is released in to the world from historical past to present danger.
it is maybe YOU WERE A TARGET! but your defence aura warned you by tickling your 'sixth sense'.

It's quite common to fear the unknown in a variety of contexts. However sometimes our fear of the unknown can be mistaken for sensing something else. That's not to say that nothing has ever happened on that piece of land that you refer to. Just to say that the psychic radar is a fragile and sensitive thing and when we are not used to or able to fully interpret its signals our most obvious reaction is fear, run and then we start personalising that fear into something we associate with fear. So you could be just being paranoid or you could be genuinely picking up on something, but not fully understanding quite what you've picked up on!!!

Regardless of the laughter of fools, I will say that evil exists, and there are places where evil seems to gather. I don't know where you were, or the circumstances, but if you felt it, doesn't that rather make it real to you? Or are you in the habit of questioning your own feelings all the time?

Trust those instincts. If it wasn't for them, early man would never have survived to get us this far.
Nowadays, we are bred to believe those senses are nothing but childish feelings. I, along with a growing number of people, know they are not.
Did you and your bro's hackles rise *before* you expressed your sense to each other? (hair-raising, back of the neck type of tingle for me) If so, assume you were *not* paranoid.

I trust my gut feelings, they have yet to let me down.

I'm a clairvoyant/medium...you both sensed evil because it was present...You were actually walking across some unmarked graves....they are EVERYWHERE! Not every dark place has evil...just certain ones...If you both ever experience it again... leave!

I think that in the dark your other senses are heightened, so your fear may have just stemmed from your imagination turned up a bit!
