Weren't weebles, space hoppers and chopper bikes from the 70s? I was a sixth former in the early eighties. I miss the music: ABC, Spandau Ballet, Duran Duran, Depeche Mode etc. Then in the mid eighties I was a student (on a grant - remember those things?), and I miss the indie music I listened to; the Smiths, Echo and the Bunnymen, Cocteau Twins etc., then, in the late eighties, I started work - hurricane, stock market crash, housing market collapse - I don't miss any of that. Best thing about the eighties - Thatcher, worst thing - Chernobyl.

This is my fourth decade. I can barely remember the 70's as I was only born in 1976, The 90's was rubbish and so is this decade, so I'd have to say the 80's was probably my favourite decade.
My favourite part of the 80's was Transformers, I loved them when I was a kid. Some good music came out in the 80's, like Prince and Kate Bush for instance.
My least favourite part of the 80's was having to go to school and being bullied by morons.

I miss a lot of things about the 1980's....for a start I was much more younger then ..so i miss that for one. My favourite thing was definitely 80's music and I seem to be stuck in a time-warp as i still love listening to 80s music and going to concerts that involves artists from the 80's
The 80's rocks

I loved the 80s I had the weebles playground! I gave a lot of my toys away (foolishly) and now I'm buying my childhood back off ebay! I bought myself the huge sindy house with all the furniture. They just don't make toys like they used to! Kids TV was better back then... Rainbow, Danger mouse, He-man and She-ra! I love 80's music too. I had a flick lol and wore rara skirts. When I went to Trax the roller skating club I wore fluorescent fingerless gloves and leg warmers! I'm a big fan of all the 80s movies, Pretty in pink, Sixteen candles, Teenwolf, Karate Kid. I could go on all night! Oh those were the days.
Best decade ever?
You're an '80s child if...
Snap bracelets were always getting you in trouble at school.
You played with "My Little Ponies."
Friendship bracelets were ties that couldn't be
broken.
You read Judy Blume Nancy Drew, The Hardy Boys, The Babysitters Club, or Sweet Valley High.
You know all the words to "Ice Ice Baby."
You wanted to be The Hulk for Halloween.
You had a crush on one of the New Kids on the
Block members.
You wanted to be on Jim'll Fix It. (And never got
a response!)
You can remember what Michael Jackson looked like before he had plastic surgery.
You wore a banana clip or one of those slap-on
wrist bands at some point.
You wore multiple pairs of socks in the middle of the summer just so you could be "hip."
You had slouch socks and puff painted your own shirt at least once.
You were upset when She-ra, Princess of Power, and He-Man got cancelled.
You can remember watching Saved by the Bell for endless hours, back when they were new episodes.
You have seen at least 10 episodes of Fraggle
Rock.
The best artist in the world was Tony Hart.
You hold a special place in your heart for "Back
to the Future."
You know where to go if you "wanna go where
everybody knows your name."
You wanted to be a Goonie. ("Goonies never say die.")
You remember Madonna in her cone stage.
You knew "The Artist" when he was humbly called "Prince."
You even wore flourescent-neon clothing... (if
you can call it clothing!)
You could breakdance, or wished you could.
2 Unlimited were *the* ultimate ravers! ("No no, no no no no, no no no no... THERES NO LIMIT!")
You remember when ATARI, Commodore or Spectrum
were state of the art video game systems.
You remember M.C. Hammer.
You remember Gordon The Gopher, and liked him!
You can still sing the theme tune to 'Rainbow'
(Up above the streets and houses...)
You remember when it was Jazzy Jeff and the Fresh Prince and NOT Will Smith!
You own any cassettes.
You remember where Mr Spoon was heading... (We've been to button moon)
You owned a pair of L.A. Gear, Keds, or Converse trainers.
You carried your lunch to school in a Gremlins,
ET or Thomas The Tank Engine lunchbox.
You have ever pondered why Smurfette was the ONLY female smurf!
My Little Pony, Gummy Bears and
Transformers are familiar to you.
You had a Swatch Watch.
You actually spent countless hours trying to
perfect the "Care Bear stare."
You had Wonder Woman or Superman undies.
Remember Key-pers or Puffalumps?
You believed that "By the power of Greyskull, you HAD the power!"
You thought that Transformers were more than
meets the eye.
You spent hours in the basement building and re-building Lego cities.
Big wheels and BMX's were the way to go.
With your pink or blue portable tape player, you
sang back up to Kylie and Jason!
"Party like it's 1999" seemed SO far away!!
You wore stonewashed jeans.
Sported at least one tye dyed shirt.
Jean cutoffs, or cut sweatshirts seemed *really*
cool
Scooters were in . If you ever owned Polly Pocket or Mirco Machines.
If you ever made Ken fall in love with Barbie.
If you can identify with at least half of these,
you are a child of the 80's!! WHAT A WONDERFUL DECADE!!!!!!!

I grew up inthe 80's, late 80s anyhow. Started college in 86. These were some of the best times in my life.
I miss the people I used to hang out with more than anything. Most of us went seperate ways as our lives progressed. Once in a while a few of us still get together.
As far as "Things" I miss, well...Beavis & Butthead, Married With Children , Guns & Roses... and "The Cure" when they were still good.

I was born in '88 and so I'm too young to remember it. But I do regret not being around for the greatest era of music in the world (i'm a Depeche Mode fan!). When I was 3, I can remember one of my family gave me their original 80's Space Hopper, and I wouldn't come off it for months. Bloomin' great!!!

It was horrible.
1. I was at school, horrible
2. Mullet hair cuts.
3. Duran Duran and Wham (oh god NOOOO)
4. Liverpool winning everything in the football (boring)
5. Cr&p TV (4 channels and the closedown - yes they actually switched off the programs at the end of the night)
6. Cr&p films (Fame, Flashdance, Top Gun)
7. I didn't get a chopper I was given a friggin' Grifter (and it was as heavy as a truck and I couldn't do wheelies.
8. Bruce Willis was actually cool (Moonlighting) but it's hard to get the look of a receeding hairline when you are 14.
I'm going to stop now. This is bringing back too many painful memories.

I miss being that young and no responsibilities, plus the hair and music. But hey I see some of the styles are coming back this fall, like poof skirts, leggings, and tapered jeans with zippered ankles, maybe some of the other 80's things will return too. :-)
