From the article below: "Motion sickness occurs when the body is subjected to accelerations of movement in different directions or under conditions where visual contact with the actual outside horizon is lost. The balance center of the inner ear then sends information to the brain that conflicts with the visual clues of apparently standing still in the interior cabin of a ship or airplane."

I don't know, but I get car (bus, ariplane and any motion) sickness unless I drive the car. Maybe there is not enough "something" in the body to make the head stay balance.

It has to do with the nausea center in the brain. It gets conflicting info from your own movement, and a much faster moving world you see outside the window. Those two don't add up, and cause nausea.

I think it's worse if you don't look out of the window, e.g. read a book or something, because your inner ear feels that you're moving but your eyes think you're stationary, and everything goes crazy!

It's a mistransmission between your eyes and your limbic system, which is in your ears. Your eyes say you're moving, and your ears say you're not, and that makes you nauseous and maybe vomit.
