My husband has been to a nude beach on multiple occasions and he didn't have that problem. Honestly, what you see representing nude beaches on TV and other places are selective cuts to make them appear as though they are only populated by hot babes. They are just as likely to be populated by middle aged men and women with pot bellies and sagging boobs and, indeed, families with small children. Chances are, if you're over 20 or so, you'd be able to get through it without embarrassing yourself.

I never went to a nude beach but if I did I probably would have an erection.

I've never beem to a nude beach but can't envision a bunch of guys standing around drinking beer with raging hard-ons. I'm guessing if you get an erection it would be taboo to just get up and start walking around with it as the purpose of a nude beach is to enjoy the beach naked, not for sexual gratification.

This is a common question among newcomers to nudist activities. In practice, it is nothing to worry about. What usually happens is something like this:
You get an erection, somebody notices, points at you and yells, "Hey, look at the hard-on on that guy" or, "Look at that guy trying to hide his hard-on". Then everyone gathers around, pointing and laughing. If you try to run away, they all follow you. People start taking pictures. Eventually, some mesomorph/homophobe thinks he catches you looking at his girlfriend/self and beats the crap out of you. After this happens two or three times, you get conditioned to always go limp when you see a naked body.
No problem.
(Just kiddin', of course. Look, if it happens, you roll over on your stomach or wade deeper in the water until it goes away.)

Um, have you ever seen the people who hang out in nude colonies? They're the LAST people you want to see naked.

It rarely happens especially after you have been going a while.
Most people would lay down or cover up until it passes.
Other people there don't really care.
The people you meet there are the most nice and friendly you would ever meet as long as you behave yourself.
