Are you sick of seeing SUV's without any mud or scratches on them? Do you hate being stuck behind someone in an H2 as they blabber away on their cell phone? Do you think people realize that they are 35,000 dollar in the hole to a fashion trend?

For the record, there's no such thing as a tree hugger. There's just people that aren't blind to fact and realize that vegatation is a vital part of our world. Next, I've been studying alternative fuel sources for the last few years so if you want to argue details, throw down. Last of all, there's nothing silly or worthless about being protective of natural resources. Unless you already own land somewhere else in the solar system then caring for the environment here really DOES matter.

It is the way people drive them that led to my wife's phrase "stupid user vehicle".
They're great in the hills, but I hate them in the city.

hey they pollute a lot less than some beat up old piece with no friggin tailpipe that's only worth about $200 and i see more of those around than hummers. so it might be a good thing that suv's are more expensive. i like the 4 wheel drive capability and the spacious interior for road trips. but why the hell would they make a mercedes suv. do THEY actually think the owner will go mudding in a $40,000 4x4? yeah, some people only live by their eyes.

HELL YES THEY ARE A WASTE! A waste of money and a waste to the environment. Those gas-guzzling things are one of the primary reasons we are cooking under the heat right now.
I think you should have to prove you will be driving more than four people around at least fifty per cent of the time in order to be able to purchase an SUV, or you should have to prove you have a ton of stuff to drag around with you all the time. D*mmit to those marketers that have sold North America on SUVs as a stautus symbol.

Without my 4-wheel-drive vehicle, I wouldn't make it to work. I live in Nebraska--we have lots of ice and snow in the winter; in fact we had 20 inches of snow in ONE DAY last winter--and I work 15 miles away from my home. OK, nobody needs a Hummer. But my Ford Escape (one of the safest, most fuel-efficient SUV's, by the way) is a necessity. So please don't throw everybody in the same pit.

They're great for large families with a lot of gear. What I can't stand is all the single, childless people driving around in a 2.5 ton bus because it's "cool."

fvcking stupid azz tree huggin morons. If your so worried about SUV and Pollution why don't your NERDS ask your local congressman why they haven't started mass producing bio-fuels and bio-diesel that burn clean (that means no pollution) and can be made in the same refineries from FAST FOOD FRY GREASE for about $1.50 a gallon.
or for free if you know how to make it yourself; like me :-)

people that buy only hondas suburus toyotas and hyundais are the people that are stuck in the trend, people that buy trucks have bought trucks for decades. so i dont think your argument has much weight with suv/truck drivers

Nope, doesn't bother me a bit. At times I do wish people would hang up and drive though.
