Try searching for "plus size" fashions. I found this awesome store in California the website is http://www.torrid.com there is also a place in this area called the Fashion Bug the website address is http://fashionbug.charmingshoppes.com/homefb.aspx
I found both of these shops to be fairly reasonable and the clothes are good quality. Not to mention they aren't "granny clothes"

Lane Bryant has lots of nice clothes. However, being a size 14 you probably have the same problem I do. A lot of the clothes at the normal store is too small/just doesn't look right and some of the clothes at Lane Bryant is too big. They do have nice clothes there. Also, Dress Barn has lots of nice dresses, work clothes.
If you get TLC you can watch "What Not To Wear" when someone with a body type similar to you is on. It is very helpful. I've tried some of the things with great results.

Wear things that skim over your body rather than cling. Be very careful if you decide to try the pinstripe trick. If they're at all tight, they'll make wavy lines over the curves of your butt...not cute! I always buy pinstripes a size bigger than solid pants for this reason. Don't wear anything too tight or too short, it will only make you look bigger.
Try empire waist tops (or dresses) and slim pants...you don't have to wear "skinny jeans" but don't wear baggy ones either. This will help enlongate your figure.
Also, if you feel "hippy," wear a boat-neck top or one with a square neck and wide-set straps since this will help balance you out. No halter tops, it will only make your shoulders look narrower.

here are some tips to avoid looking heavier then you actually are:
1. wear solids or small prints instead of large prints
2. don't wear anything too tight or too big; your clothes should fit correctly, even if you might feel like wearing looser clothes to hide yourself in
3. shiny fabrics show rolls, lumps, inperfections...avoid them
4. don't be afraid to wear trendy styles...just because you aren't a size 6 doesn't mean you can't look hot! try searching on the internet for fashionable plus size clothes...make sure to wear fun accessories and shoes!
5. get a really cute hairstyle and some nice makeup...this helps everyone look and feel there best!

I'm a 14 also...well, I was before I go pregnant, haha! I usually tried to stay away from really tight fitting stuff. Also, I don't wear tank tops...just doesn't look appropriate on me. If you are larger in the chest like me (I was a 38 D before I got pregnant) Then wear something that flatters that, and brings the attention up away from your middle section and hips. Also, don't wear flared pants (like bell bottoms) they just make you look heavier!

Some comp. sell certain things by the like size like they wold only sell things that flatter plus sizes and petites, like for petites to make them look larger, they would have in stock dresses with the stripes goin' around, and pluses with them going down, and if you have a large rear, then u they would have pants witht the pockets closer, or small rear without pockets...-is that ok?

Loose some weight...seriously. Because unless you take those flattering clothes off in the pitch black it isn't going to matter what you look like in them.

It depends on whether or not you have a pear or apple shape. Do you carry your weight on the top or the bottom? Do you have a waist? There are lots of resources on the web about finding what fits your body best, I suggest you google it. Good Luck!
