Our c-section moms get up to take a shower at about the 24 hr mark when we remove the dressing. It is ok to shower with the staples in at the hospital and also after discharge if you have steri strips on (if you have glue holding the incision that's fine too). The steri strips will just fall off, that's ok.
At home, as with any birth, vaginal or c-section, you want to avoid sitting in bathtubs, swimming or hot tubs until your vaginal bleeding has stopped. At that time the cervix is closed, you don't want to be sitting in a tub of dirty soapy irritating water with an open cervix increasing risk for infection. Also with a csection, you want to make sure the incision is well healed and approximated (edges together).
If it's been 2 weeks most likely you are not bleeding at all and your incision is healed and approximated. If these things are both true, and there have been NO COMPLICATIONS you aren't telling us (previous infection in your c-section wound, poorly healed wound or something that would slow healing such as you have diabetes or malnourished, etc) then it's fine to take a bath. I would shower first to get clean and get the soap off then take a nice warm bath with clean water. It really does help relax you, especially if you have a new baby and two other little ones running around!

If you sit in a tub of shallow water that doesn't come up and actually get your incision wet (a sitz bath, basically), I would think you could take a bath like that as soon as you wanted to. The only problem would be getting in and out of the tub itself. It's fine to shower after a c-section...you need to keep your incision clean and letting water run over it is fine. Submerging it is not...it will keep the incision very moist and won't heal as fast. Did your ob put steri-strips on it?

Sounds to me like you already know the answer. Since you've BTDT, and since 2 weeks was the norm last time, I'd go ahead if I were you. I had a csection earlier this year and the doctor said I could take a bath as soon as the incision had healed (about 2 weeks). I say, what your doc doesn't know won't hurt her.

If your incision is completely healed it should be okay if it is not you could tape some plastic wrap over it so water can't get in that's what I did just make sure you dry it real well after your bath (maybe even with a hair dryer).

I was told that to shower until the butterfly bandages fell off on their own. That took about two weeks (to the best of my memory) and then a bath was fine. You don't want to sit in the water right now just in case your incision is not completely healed. It is too risky to get contaminated water in there and risk an infection!
