If you are referring to police records, it varies from job to job. Some employers may not request any background information and of those that do, they are governed by both state law and internal policy on how long after the conviction of a felony they can hold it against you. In most companies it is from 3 to eight years. You would have to investigate the companies policy on that.

in my experience it is always different.I think it varies from job to job the application will usually tell you how many years they intend to look.
