need book repair on power going to ground cable in automobil and drain to battery.

Do you have a bad ground wire and your battery is not charging? Clean all connections and see if this fixes it. Then question is hard to understand.

chiltons doesn't do well with electrical diagrams. go to ebay and see if you can locate the electrical shop manual made specifically for that particular car/truck.
