I've been to a number of live concerts put on by the Moody Blues...and that's when Ray Thomas was still with them. What I'm looking for is a recording of Ray Thomas's solo flute performance in that song about Timothy Leary..he plays for what...five or more mintues...just incredible. I've looked everywhere for this...does anyone have knowledge of this tune? And where I can get it? Thanks.

The song is "Legend of A Mind". It originally came out in the album "In Search of the Lost Chord". There are also live versions, which extend the solo more, in "Caught Live Plus Five" and "A Night At Red Rocks".

There was a radio station in Colorado that featured a live broadcast of a performance that they did in San Diego (mid-nineties, perhaps?) that fits your description. I could find out the dates, if you're looking for the live version. As for the studio release, the song is originally from the album "In Search of the Lost Chord" and is also featured on "The Moody Blues: Hall of Fame - Live From the Royal Albert Hall" and the "Anthology", "Caught Live+5", and the "This is the Moody Blues" compilations, all available from Amazon.

Okay...I did a bit of research on the internet and found a trading site that lists the San Diego concert as being from 1994, which sounds about right, although you could probably pick up just about any live recording with Ray Thomas and find that song. Good luck...
