Kids are impressionable, and struggle with what they hear. Take responsiblity, some of the people on here are 13,14,15. I'm sure people telling them they are going to hell, isnt helping them? correct? Look at some of the horrible things that have been said? I'm older and can laugh it off, but what if?

Why is not one of them answering or taking responsiblity? Where are all of the people who say hateful things on behalf of their god?

Many people every day want to die because life is sometimes hard. Always remember the only thing that stays the same is change. So you could be going through something tuff one year, then the next year might be the best year of your life. No one knows whats around the corner it would be a bummer if you werent here. The more you go through the stronger you are.

I am a young gay teenager and I have been around that dark corner to suicide many times.
I almost died tonight because the boy I've loved for five years simply is ignoring me like some kind of gnat.
it is so not worth it. I feel like dying because I feel like he made me worthless but I know if I really did die, he would win and probably laugh.
so gay kids, keep your heads up. and bible thumpers, go read about David and Jonathon in your Old Testament....

I want to thank you for placing this question out here. Too many young people have died because they reached out for help and they were either ignored or made to feel worse about themselves gay or straight.

The "bible thumpers" out here really have no concern over the individual. Only their right to push their views. They too often forget that there are human beings on the other end of these questions that all too often need good caring answers.

Teenage and young adult gay suicide, especially among males, is one of the largest causes of death in that age group, ranking closely after automobile accidents. Your point is well taken.

While I can understand the discussions of whether homosexuality is a choice, I am at a loss to explain any religious person who preaches hatred. There is no major religion in the world that is centered around a hateful God, or that preaches hatred by the followers of that God. These people are not only ill informed, they are people of bad faith.

Many members of the LGBT community do commit suicide due to the hate that they're the target of from society as a whole, not just the "Bible humpers." There are resources out there for everyone to be supported and accepted. It's just a matter of getting the message of love to be heard above the messages of hate.

wow

I would never do that. I don't really believe in the bible, after all it was written by man, and the writings reflect the culture and beliefes of that day and age, which have changed dramatically. I believe that if you are doing something wrong you will know it, if you are intentionally hurting someong emotionally or physically that is wrong

the bible thumpers would be the sinners

they drive me crazy

You know it is shame church folk claim that there is no little sin and big sin right. So if a man cheats on his wife he is forgiven so why can't we forgive a gay or lesbian. Some might say well cheating is a one time sin and being gay is an ongoing sin but people sin everyday by smoking, over eating, sleeping around, and many other things but church folk can single out on group and make their live a complete living hell!Whats up with that??? The way God sees it is that sin is sin no little "I" and bigg "you".

I think you make a most elegant point. I hope a hater is listening but I don't expect it to change them I am beginning to loose my faith in humanity. I think most humans are a wretched lot with no font of human feeling left in them. I don't imagine that God will allow this world to continue much longer. People are just evil and most of those who say they follow Christ don't really know him. I just made an appeal to one of the haters and I begged them to stop tormenting a friend of mine and I was rewarded as I expected to be. I give up on the sorry lot of them. This has been a most depressing day.

Personally I don't put down people because of their sexual orientation. Neither do I thump a Bible, although I do quote it. My God loves people, but, does not always approve of their actions. If you want respect from Christians, maybe you should try respecting them and not being sarcastic and demeaning which is what your question is obviously worded to do. Treat others the way you want to be treated. Gee, who said that?

well said...i totally agree...these judgmental ppl need to think before they speak....and saying it is wrong to be gay...and all the other hatred they spew. It is wrong to judge...last time i checked only one allowed to judge is god almighty himself...they all need to get off their high horses, and think that is morally wrong to judge ppl solely on their sexuality. And u are totally right kids are impressionable..and when they are looking for help, and see that an adult is saying that it is wrong to be who they are...and I've even seen some say that they all need to be dead, that is wrong. I am a lesbian, and also a counselor of children. So I can speak on behave of the both of us.

Point well taken, however it is sad...just like they justify there actions by preaching for the bible...they will find a way to justify this if it were to happen. They would lay the blame on someone else. I agree with you. Isn't that why kids commit suicide,,,bec they think they are not worth loving?
