If not, can two people agree to be engaged in a fight, through signing injury/death waiver, in order to settle a dispute?
Personally, I don't see why not, it is just like an amateur boxing match where an opponent would be liable to the death/injury of the opponent due to the waiver. The apparent goal is to duke it out, but the ultimate goal is the fight to death in order to settle a dispute. This might be a way to get around anti-dueling law.

Unfortunately no. That's why boxing is only allowed in a few states. There's very strict rules as to when the fight ends, etc. Remember Dr. Kevorkian? You cannot help another person die. Even if they sign a waiver that says it's okay. It's one thing to participate in an event where there's a risk of death, but to participate in an event where the goal is death, doesn't fit under the current legislation.

i don't know i don't think so as long as you all don't invite the cops and
and are cautious as to the extent of fighting and beating up each other duling is actually fun to participate in and to watch.
just becarefull
one other thing i learnd is no matter what the dispute is its not worth it
for eg my case
300.00 -doctor fee
500.00 assult (public Altercation) i was not pressed with assult cause we kinda new the cop
200.00 property dammage
400.00 other person medical bill
mine was cheap we didn't press charges or any lawyer fees.
fight only if you have to and make a mess of the other guy so other can learn

Check with your state's law, but in general... no. Some states still have a crime called "dueling" ... others call it "mutual combat". Under the laws of EVERY state, you cannot agree to do something with another person that is already illegal.

No it isn't legal, but you could privately agree to almost anything. don't put it on paper then the survivor could be held liable, just do it where you wont be seen, and don't tell people about it.
Two people go away separately without letting people know and only one returns.

Duelling is a crime because it is assisting a person to be killed as provided for under the Penal Law.
